Ather Energy Partners with ThunderPlus to Expand EV Charging Network Across 50 Cities

Greaves Electric Mobility

Ather and ThunderPlus Join Forces for Interoperable EV Charging

Bengaluru-based Ather Energy has partnered with ThunderPlus, a Telangana-based EV charging solutions provider, to make 140 fast-charging stations interoperable for Ather’s customers. The network spans 15 states and 50 cities, significantly expanding Ather’s charging footprint.

This collaboration aims to tackle one of the biggest hurdles in EV adoption—range anxiety—by giving Ather riders easy access to ThunderPlus’s widespread charging infrastructure.

Seamless Access for Electric Two-Wheelers

Ather Energy’s leadership highlighted that the integration will improve charging access and system compatibility for Ather users. Riders can now locate and use ThunderPlus charging stations without restrictions, boosting convenience on longer commutes.

ThunderPlus Eyes More OEM Partnerships

Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus, welcomed the partnership and expressed interest in collaborating with more EV manufacturers. He emphasized the importance of shared infrastructure in building a robust electric mobility ecosystem.

ThunderPlus already operates over 2,000 charging stations nationwide. These range from 30 kW to 240 kW in capacity and support both private and commercial EVs.

Strategic Locations and Growing Reach

The charging stations now available to Ather customers cover high-traffic areas in major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and emerging EV hubs such as Vijayawada, Ayodhya, and Nagpur.

ThunderPlus’s broader vision includes faster infrastructure rollouts, grid integration, and enhanced user experience. The company continues to work with leading mobility providers such as FlixBus, Turno, Ohm, and ETO.

Building a Nationwide EV Charging Ecosystem

This move represents a step toward a more connected and reliable charging network for India’s growing electric vehicle segment. By working together, Ather and ThunderPlus aim to set a benchmark for open-access, future-ready EV infrastructure.

As EV adoption rises, collaborations like this will play a vital role in making clean transportation practical and accessible for all.
