₹240 Crore Paid Upfront, More to Follow

As part of the transaction, Hero MotoCorp has initially paid ₹239.99 crore, representing 25% of the total warrant value. The remaining amount will be payable when the warrants are converted into equity shares.

The investment builds on Hero MotoCorp’s earlier decision to invest up to ₹1,000 crore in Ather Energy through a preferential issue, highlighting the company’s continued confidence in the Bengaluru-based EV maker.

Why This Investment Matters for Ather

The latest investment comes as India’s electric two-wheeler market enters a highly competitive phase, with established manufacturers and emerging EV brands expanding their portfolios.

Key potential benefits for Ather include:

  • Stronger financial backing for future expansion
  • Increased scope for product development and technology investments
  • Potential access to greater manufacturing and supply-chain capabilities
  • Stronger positioning against competitors in the rapidly growing EV market

Hero MotoCorp Doubles Down on Electric Mobility

For Hero MotoCorp, the investment represents more than financial participation. Its deeper involvement with Ather provides exposure to a technology-focused EV company while strengthening its broader electric mobility strategy.

As competition intensifies, capital, innovation, technology and manufacturing scale are likely to determine the long-term winners in India’s electric two-wheeler industry.
