Pulse Energy Backs India’s Unified EV Charging Push

Pulse Energy has joined Unified Bharat eCharge (UBC) as one of its first certified technology enablers, supporting the government-backed initiative to create a more interoperable EV charging ecosystem across India.

The network, launched by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, BHEL and NPCI, allows EV users to discover charging points and make payments through UPI on the BHIM app, eliminating the need for multiple charging applications and operator-specific wallets.

10,000+ Chargers to Join the Unified Network

Pulse Energy currently works with more than 100 charge point operator (CPO) partners and has a connected network of over 10,000 EV chargers.

Its role will include:

  • Connecting existing chargers to the UBC network.
  • Enabling charger discovery through interoperable platforms.
  • Allowing operators to retain their existing hardware and branding.
  • Supporting payment, mobility and automotive applications connecting to UBC.

Making EV Charging Simpler for Drivers

UBC aims to tackle one of India’s key EV infrastructure challenges: fragmentation. Drivers often need multiple apps, accounts and prepaid wallets to access different charging networks.

With UBC, users can locate a participating charger through BHIM, scan its QR code and pay directly from their bank account using UPI.

Building a Nationwide Charging Ecosystem

Developed as digital public infrastructure using the open Beckn protocol, UBC is designed to connect charging networks across cities and national highways.

Pulse Energy has also launched a feedback mechanism through Unified Bharat eCharge’s website, enabling users to suggest improvements and request new features as the network expands.
