Musashi Auto Parts India has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Bhago Mobility Solutions to supply electric powertrain systems for the fixed-battery version of the upcoming Bhago Bhim™ electric three-wheeler. Production of the e-Axle-equipped vehicle is scheduled to begin in 2027.
Musashi to Supply Integrated e-Axle Systems
Under the agreement, Musashi will supply electric axles (e-Axles), an integrated powertrain system combining key drivetrain components, for the fixed-battery configuration of the Bhago Bhim™ passenger vehicle.
The e-Axles will be manufactured at Musashi’s Bangalore facility, supporting localised production of electric powertrain components.
Key Highlights
- Production planned to start in 2027
- e-Axles supplied for the fixed-battery Bhim™ variant
- Manufacturing to take place at Musashi’s Bangalore plant
- Future collaboration may cover cargo variants and battery-swapping systems
- Bhim™ targets passenger and last-mile mobility applications
Bhim™ Platform Built for Connected Mobility
The Bhago Bhim™ is being developed on an IoT-native architecture with integrated telematics. The platform is designed to support features such as remote diagnostics, maintenance scheduling and over-the-air software updates.
Bhago is also developing a battery-swap variant, although the current LOI applies only to the fixed-battery version.
Focus on India’s Growing Electric Three-Wheeler Market
The partnership comes as electric three-wheelers continue to gain traction in India. According to figures cited by the companies, EVs accounted for more than 60 percent of three-wheeler retail sales in 2025.
The companies also intend to explore additional opportunities across the Bhim™ platform, potentially expanding their collaboration beyond passenger vehicles.
The partnership highlights the growing role of localised electric powertrain manufacturing in supporting India’s transition towards electrified last-mile mobility.
