Maxvolt Energy Industries has commenced development of a Rs 700 crore advanced battery manufacturing facility in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, as the company expands its production footprint across electric mobility and energy storage applications.
Aligarh Plant to Add 10 GWh Capacity
Spread across approximately 23,576 square metres, or nearly six acres, the new facility will be developed in two phases. Each phase will add 5 GWh of annual manufacturing capacity, taking the plant’s planned capacity to 10 GWh.
Along with Maxvolt’s existing Duhai facility, the company’s total planned manufacturing capacity will reach 12.5 GWh annually.

Battery Solutions Across Multiple Applications
The facility will manufacture battery systems ranging from 1 kW to 5 MW, featuring battery management systems compatible with AC charging and Level 3 and Level 5 DC fast charging.
Maxvolt will also establish dedicated OEM assembly lines and expand into four-wheeler electric passenger vehicle battery packs. The plant will complement its existing operations serving two- and three-wheelers, telecom backup and stationary energy storage applications.
Up to 12,000 Jobs Expected
At full scale, Maxvolt estimates the project could generate 1,500–2,000 direct jobs and up to 10,000 indirect employment opportunities across manufacturing, engineering, logistics and testing.
The company says the phased approach will allow it to validate the first 5 GWh production line before scaling up the second phase, helping manage suppliers, testing and production ramp-up.
