India’s commercial EV ecosystem is entering a new phase of growth as companies explore innovative business models to accelerate fleet electrification. Electric mobility platform BLive has launched BLive PRIME, an e-cargo four-wheeler franchise model backed by a planned investment of ₹100 crore to deploy 1,000 electric mini-trucks over the next two years.
The initiative reflects growing confidence in the commercial viability of electric cargo vehicles and highlights the increasing role of alternative ownership structures in scaling EV adoption.
Introducing A Franchise-Led Fleet Model
BLive PRIME operates on a Franchisee-Owned, Company-Operated (FOCO) structure, allowing investors to participate in fleet ownership without managing day-to-day operations.
Key features of the model include:
• Entry investment starting at ₹50 lakh
• Franchise partners own the electric mini-truck fleet
• BLive manages operations and vehicle deployment
• Centralised fleet support and management
• Access to established logistics demand channels
The model is designed to make commercial EV ownership more accessible while ensuring efficient fleet utilisation.
1,000 Electric Mini-Trucks Planned Across Key Cities
The company plans to deploy 1,000 electric mini-trucks over the next two years, beginning with Bengaluru before expanding into other major markets.
Planned expansion cities include:
• Delhi
• Chennai
• Hyderabad
The rollout is expected to support growing demand for sustainable urban logistics and last-mile delivery solutions.
Supporting India’s Logistics Electrification Journey
BLive intends to deploy the vehicles across leading logistics and delivery platforms, including:
• Hyperpure
• Porter
• Delhivery
By integrating directly with established logistics networks, the company aims to improve fleet utilisation while reducing emissions from urban freight operations.
Why This Matters For The EV Industry
Electric cargo vehicles are emerging as one of the most commercially viable EV segments due to predictable routes, high vehicle utilisation, and favourable operating economics.
BLive’s PRIME initiative demonstrates how innovative ownership models can help unlock capital for fleet expansion while reducing operational barriers for investors. As logistics companies continue to prioritise efficiency and sustainability, franchise-led electric fleets could become an important catalyst for commercial EV adoption across India.
