Ultraviolette Automotive has announced its new BIGGA (Big Global Ambition) Factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, marking a major expansion of its electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities. The facility will manufacture the upcoming Tesseract electric scooter and support the company’s growing portfolio of electric motorcycles and scooters.
Production Capacity to Reach 250,000 Units
Located at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri, the BIGGA Factory will be developed in phases.
- Initial annual production capacity: 250,000 vehicles
- Scalable capacity: 500,000 vehicles annually
- Expected initial employment: around 2,000 jobs
- Production will include the Tesseract electric scooter
- Future models will span Sports, Crossover, Cruiser, Street and scooter segments
Ultraviolette’s existing Bengaluru manufacturing facility will continue operations alongside the new Hosur plant.
Industry 4.0 Manufacturing at the Core
The new facility will integrate advanced automation and digital manufacturing technologies to improve production efficiency, precision and quality.
Key technologies will include:
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for real-time production tracking
- Collaborative robots for sorting, welding and assembly
- Automated assembly fool-proofing
- Vision-based inspection systems
- Digital lean manufacturing and quality systems
- A dedicated test track for vehicle evaluation
Building Scale for Global EV Markets
Ultraviolette said Hosur’s established automotive ecosystem, supply-chain advantages and proximity to its Bengaluru R&D operations make it strategically suited for the facility.
The BIGGA Factory is designed to provide the manufacturing scale needed for the company’s next phase of growth in India and international markets. The company aims to strengthen its position as an Indian electric mobility technology manufacturer capable of developing and scaling products for global customers.
