Pulse Energy and HPCL integrate 5,000 EV chargers into single national access platform

Greaves Electric Mobility

Unified charging access across HPCL’s HPe Charge network

Pulse Energy has partnered with HPCL’s EV charging brand, HPe Charge, to integrate more than 5,000 EV chargers across India into a single access and payments platform. The integration enables EV drivers to find, access, and pay for charging at HPCL locations using one interface, reducing dependence on multiple apps and payment systems. This move targets one of the key barriers to EV adoption fragmented charging experiences.

Reducing friction for drivers and improving utilisation

The companies state that the partnership simplifies charging access for EV users while increasing charger utilisation for operators. Drivers no longer need to juggle different apps or wallets, particularly during long-distance or intercity travel. For operators, unified access improves visibility and throughput across charging assets, strengthening infrastructure economics.

Expanding a multi-operator charging ecosystem

With HPCL joining Pulse Energy’s platform, the network now includes charging operators such as Shell, ChargeZone, BESCOM, and Thunderplus. Pulse Energy reports supporting over 18 million electric kilometres driven every month across its partner networks. The platform-led approach focuses on integrating and optimising existing infrastructure rather than adding new charging hardware.

Supporting highway and intercity EV mobility

HPCL has been steadily expanding its EV charging footprint under the HPe Charge brand across highways, fuel stations, and urban centres. The integration is expected to significantly improve charging access for long-distance EV travel, aligning with India’s growing demand for reliable intercity electric mobility. Industry observers see this collaboration as part of a broader shift toward interoperability-led growth in India’s EV charging sector.
