Trinity Cleantech is developing a mobile bioethanol-powered generator set with integrated EV charging, targeting off-grid and remote applications across India.
One Platform for Power and EV Charging
The proposed system combines power generation and EV charging in a single mobile platform. It is being designed to convert liquid bioethanol into electricity on demand, offering an alternative to conventional diesel generator sets while supporting electric mobility.
By using bioethanol produced from agricultural residues and surplus feedstock, the technology could also create an additional use case for India’s expanding ethanol ecosystem.
Built for Locations Beyond the Grid
The mobile Gen Set is intended for applications where grid connectivity is limited, unreliable or unavailable.
Potential use cases include:
- Construction and mining sites
- Defence and field installations
- Disaster-response operations
- Industrial facilities
- Logistics and temporary charging locations
Its mobile architecture could allow operators to move the power and charging system as operational requirements change.
Lease Model Could Lower Adoption Barriers
Trinity Cleantech is also exploring a lease-based deployment model. This approach could help customers avoid the full upfront capital expenditure while potentially receiving equipment management, maintenance and monitoring as part of an operating model.
The company’s manufacturing and technology base at Jadcherla Green Industrial Park, Telangana, is supporting development and commercialisation efforts.
Building on Existing Bioethanol EV Charging Technology
The new Gen Set forms part of Trinity Cleantech’s broader clean-energy roadmap. The company already offers a 150 kW bioethanol-powered off-grid EV charger, demonstrating its focus on combining alternative fuels with electric mobility infrastructure.
The Generator + EV Charger platform remains under development and could provide a flexible solution for sectors requiring dependable power and EV charging without relying entirely on fixed grid infrastructure.
