Performance-Focused AEROX-E Expands Yamaha’s Maxi Sports Legacy

India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has entered the electric mobility segment with the launch of its first EVs — the AEROX-E and EC-06. The AEROX-E extends Yamaha’s renowned Maxi-Sports lineage into the zero-emission era. Equipped with a 9.4 kW peak-power motor and 48 Nm of torque, it delivers an energetic and sporty ride. The scooter features dual detachable 3 kWh batteries, reverse mode, and three riding modes — Eco, Standard, and Power, offering a certified range of 106 km on a single charge.

EC-06 Targets Everyday Urban Commuters

The EC-06 caters to daily commuters and first- or last-mile riders. It comes with a 4.5 kW continuous output motor, capable of 6.7 kW peak power, paired with a 4 kWh fixed battery that charges fully in approximately nine hours. Offering three ride modes and a certified range of 160 km, the EC-06 emphasizes practicality and reliability for urban environments.

Yamaha’s Strategic Entry into India’s EV Two-Wheeler Market

While pricing and delivery timelines remain undisclosed, Yamaha’s dual launch demonstrates its intent to establish a foothold in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler ecosystem. The company is expected to leverage its extensive dealer network, brand loyalty, and engineering heritage to compete with established electric brands in the premium and commuter categories.
