Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with commercial EV leasing platform Drivn to accelerate the adoption of electric trucks among fleet operators in India. The partnership will introduce tailored leasing and financing solutions aimed at reducing upfront costs and making electric commercial vehicles more accessible.
Over 1,000 Electric Trucks Planned in Two Years
Under the partnership, Tata Motors and Drivn plan to deploy more than 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years. The initiative is designed to address key challenges faced by commercial fleet operators, including high vehicle acquisition costs, asset utilisation, charging infrastructure planning and deployment timelines.

Tata Trucks.ev Portfolio Covers Multiple Segments
The partnership will leverage Tata Motors’ electric truck portfolio under its Trucks.ev brand. The range spans 7-tonne to 55-tonne gross vehicle weight categories, catering to diverse commercial applications.
Built on Tata Motors’ Intelligent Modular Electric Vehicle (IMOEV) architecture, the electric trucks are designed for applications including e-commerce logistics, construction material transportation and port operations.
Making Electric Trucks More Accessible
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head of Trucks at Tata Motors, said the company aims to make electric trucks more accessible while supporting India’s transition towards sustainable transportation.
By combining Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle technology with Drivn’s financing and leasing capabilities, the partnership could help fleet operators overcome financial barriers and accelerate the shift to zero-emission freight transportation.
