Tata Motors Delivers 20 More Electric Cargo Vehicles to Magenta Mobility

Greaves Electric Mobility

Tata Motors has expanded its electric commercial vehicle partnership with Magenta Mobility by delivering 20 additional Ace EVs, taking the total deployed fleet to 350 vehicles. This marks another milestone in the companies’ 2023 agreement to roll out 500 electric cargo vehicles aimed at transforming last-mile logistics with sustainable solutions. The collaboration reflects a broader shift in India’s logistics sector towards electric mobility, driven by rising demand for cleaner, more cost-efficient transport alternatives.

Operating across 10 Indian cities, Magenta Mobility’s current fleet of Ace EVs has already clocked nearly 5 million kilometers on the road. These electric cargo carriers have contributed to an estimated reduction of 2,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Serving sectors such as e-commerce, courier, and FMCG distribution, the Ace EVs have become a reliable solution for urban freight delivery while significantly cutting down environmental impact.

Commenting on the fleet expansion, Maxson Lewis, Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, said the Tata Ace EV continues to outperform expectations in terms of reliability and operational efficiency. “With 350 vehicles now running and another 150 on the way, our goal to create a robust green logistics network across India is becoming a reality,” he noted. The company aims to not only meet growing commercial demand but also to contribute meaningfully to India’s clean mobility goals.

Pinaki Haldar, Vice President of Commercial Vehicles at Tata Motors, reiterated the company’s commitment to sustainable freight movement. “Every Ace EV we deliver is a step forward in democratizing zero-emission cargo transport. Our partnership with Magenta Mobility strengthens the green logistics ecosystem and pushes India closer to its net-zero vision,” he said. Tata Motors continues to position itself as a leader in electric commercial mobility through such high-impact collaborations.

The Tata Ace EV offers a certified range of 161 kilometers and supports a payload capacity of up to 1,000 kilograms. It is equipped with the Fleet Edge connected platform, which provides real-time vehicle insights, along with features like regenerative braking and advanced battery cooling. These technologies help enhance operational uptime and improve fleet performance for logistics operators.

To date, Tata Motors has sold over 8,000 Ace EVs nationwide, collectively covering over 60 million kilometers. The company supports these vehicles with a robust service infrastructure, comprising more than 200 dedicated EV service centers. This level of after-sales support ensures reliability and ease of transition for commercial fleet operators.

India’s commercial EV segment is experiencing rapid growth, fueled by favorable government policies, rising fuel costs, and environmental commitments from businesses. Tata Motors, a part of the $165 billion Tata Group, remains at the forefront of this evolution, leveraging its domestic and international presence to drive the adoption of zero-emission transport solutions.
