Switch Mobility, part of the Hinduja Group, has delivered the first batch of its EiV12 low-floor electric city buses to the Department of Transport, Delhi, as part of a landmark 950-unit order awarded under the CESL tender. The 12-meter, ultra-low-floor buses were flagged off by Delhi’s leadership, marking a significant move toward sustainable urban transportation for the capital.
Advanced Features for Passenger Comfort and Safety
These EiV12 buses offer seating for 39 passengers and have been designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring wheelchair ramps and ergonomic layouts. Key safety and convenience elements include CCTV cameras, panic buttons, GPS tracking, a fire detection and suppression system (FDSS), and floor-mounted LFP batteries that enhance both ride stability and battery safety.
Smart Fleet Management with Switch iON Telematics
A hallmark of the EiV12 is its integration with SWITCH’s proprietary iON telematics platform—which monitors vehicle health in real time and enables intelligent fleet management for operators. Dual-gun charging technology ensures depot efficiency by facilitating rapid charging and maximizing fleet uptime.
“Make in India for the World” Vision
Manufactured at Switch’s cutting-edge facility, these buses reflect the brand’s ambition of “Make in India for the World.” The delivery to Delhi is a crucial step in establishing the capital as India’s leader in electric bus adoption, bringing together global technology and Indian manufacturing to build the next generation of clean, efficient, and commuter-focused public transport.
