ZELIO E Mobility has unveiled a groundbreaking solution for teenage transportation with the launch of “Little Gracy,” an electric scooter specifically designed for riders between 10 and 18 years old that requires neither a driving license nor RTO registration.

Introduced Wednesday, the youth-oriented scooter begins at ₹49,500 and offers parents a safer, regulated alternative to conventional two-wheelers while giving teens greater independence in their daily commute to school and activities.

“With the launch of Little Gracy, we are excited to introduce a product that is not only stylish and functional but also makes sustainable transportation accessible to younger riders,” said Kunal Arya, Co-Founder and Managing Director of ZELIO E Mobility Ltd.

The Little Gracy comes strategically positioned in three variants, each with progressively enhanced battery options. The entry-level model features a 48V/32AH Lead Acid Battery priced at ₹49,500 with a range of 55-60 kilometers. For ₹52,000, customers can upgrade to a 60V/32AH Lead Acid Battery offering 70 kilometers on a single charge, while the premium variant includes a 60V/30AH Li-Ion Battery at ₹58,000, extending range to 70-75 kilometers.

Teen-Focused Features with Parental Peace of Mind

Despite its youth-oriented positioning, Little Gracy incorporates several sophisticated features typically found in adult models. The scooter includes a digital meter, USB charging port, keyless operation, center lock with anti-theft alarm, and even reverse gear functionality. Safety features include hydraulic suspension and drum brakes on both wheels, addressing parental concerns about teen mobility.

All variants maintain a regulated top speed of 25 km/h, aligning with India’s license-free category requirements while consuming approximately 1.5 units of electricity per charge—translating to running costs of roughly ₹12-15 per full charge at current electricity rates.

The 80 kg scooter offers a generous loading capacity of 150 kg, accommodating school backpacks and sports equipment. ZELIO has also considered the style preferences of its young target audience, offering four vibrant color combinations: Pink, Brown/Cream, White/Blue, and Yellow/Green.

“We’ve designed Little Gracy to appeal to young riders’ aesthetic sensibilities while incorporating the safety and reliability features parents demand,” Arya added. “Each scooter comes with a comprehensive two-year warranty covering critical components like the motor, controller, and frame.”

Market Growth and Expansion Plans

ZELIO E Mobility’s latest offering arrives as the company expands its footprint in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market. With an existing customer base exceeding 200,000 and more than 400 dealerships nationwide, the company has announced ambitious plans to more than double its retail presence to over 1,000 dealerships by the end of 2025.

Industry analysts note that the license-free category represents a largely untapped segment within India’s electric mobility landscape, particularly as educational institutions and residential communities increasingly restrict traditional fuel-powered two-wheelers due to noise and pollution concerns.

“ZELIO’s strategic entry into the teen mobility space addresses a significant gap in the market,” said Sanjay Mehta, an automotive industry analyst. “With rising concerns about air quality and traffic congestion around educational institutions, we’re likely to see growing adoption of such purpose-built electric vehicles for students.”

The Little Gracy launch coincides with increasing government incentives for electric vehicle adoption and growing environmental consciousness among India’s middle-class families, many of whom are seeking sustainable transportation solutions for their children’s daily commute to school and extracurricular activities.
