EV maker launches new X3 Li-ion scooter with special offer that cuts prices in half for limited time
Komaki Electric Vehicle has taken a fresh approach to selling electric scooters. The company revealed its new X3 series on Tuesday with a deal that’s making waves across the industry—buy one, get one free for Women’s Day.
The Numbers Game
A single X3 scooter starts at Rs 52,999. During this Women’s Day promotion, customers can buy two for Rs 99,999. This drops the price per scooter to just under Rs 50,000. The X3 now ranks among the most affordable Li-ion scooters in India.
“The launch of our new X3 series marks another milestone in leading the country’s EV revolution,” said Gunjan Malhotra, Co-founder of Komaki Electric Vehicles. The company designed the model with women riders in mind. However, anyone can take advantage of the offer.
Technology Beyond the Discount
The two-for-one deal is creating buzz, but the X3 series also brings several tech upgrades. The scooters use lithium-ion batteries that charge quickly. This tackles one of the main worries of potential EV buyers—how long charging takes.
The X3 comes with a digital dashboard and multiple riding modes for different traffic and range needs. It also has better security features. The design includes LED lights and quality alloy wheels in what Komaki calls an aerodynamic body.
Market experts note that Komaki keeps targeting budget-conscious buyers. They do this without cutting essential features, even when not running special deals.
Komaki’s Independent Growth Story
Many EV startups rely on investor money or government help to grow. Komaki has taken a different path in the Indian market. The company grew 1200% within 20 months of starting its EV division. They reached Rs 301 crores in sales by March 2022.
Based in New Delhi with factories in Delhi and Kerala, Komaki runs over 400 dealerships across India. They started with the XGT KM model and now offer 14 scooter types. These range from the budget X-One (Rs 35,999) to the high-end Venice (Rs 1.67 lakh). They also sell electric motorcycles like the Ranger—India’s first electric cruiser.
Customers can buy the X3 scooters at these dealerships or through online platforms. Komaki hasn’t said how long the Women’s Day deal will last. This suggests interested buyers should act fast.
Market Context and Competition
Komaki’s bold move comes as the Indian electric scooter market heats up. Established brands like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and TVS now face many new rivals. This creates a crowded market where standing out is hard.
The company mixes tech innovation with eye-catching deals to cut through the noise. While rivals focus on premium features or technology edge, Komaki bets on access and value. This may grow the whole market rather than just fighting for existing EV customers.
This strategy aligns with India’s push toward electric vehicles. The government offers various perks to promote EV use as part of plans to cut carbon output and reduce oil imports.
As battery tech gets better and charging stations spread across India, analysts expect electric two-wheeler sales to climb. Komaki’s latest move shows they aim to ride this wave with competitive prices, wider distribution, and attention-grabbing marketing.
We don’t know if the “buy one, get one” approach will become a regular Komaki tactic or remain a one-time Women’s Day special. But in a market where price matters despite growing green awareness, the promotion shows Komaki’s willingness to try new ways to boost adoption.
