Blue Energy Motors Raises $50 Million to Drive Green Trucking in India

Greaves Electric Mobility

Blue Energy Motors (BEM), India’s leading manufacturer of LNG and electric heavy-duty trucks, has successfully raised $50 million in total funding to accelerate its green trucking vision. The Mumbai-based company announced that its latest round secured $30 million from Nikhil Kamath and Omnitex Industries, further strengthening its capital base.

Backed by Strong Partners

The company’s green mobility mission is supported by Essar and FPT (Iveco Group), who serve as both strategic investors and technology partners, enabling BEM to scale operations and enhance product innovation.

Scaling Production and Capacity

With a current annual manufacturing capacity of 10,000 trucks, BEM plans to use the fresh funds to:

  • Unlock full production capacity.
  • Expand development of LNG and EV truck platforms.
  • Scale its green mobility footprint across India.

Driving Decarbonization in Freight

The transportation sector contributes nearly 15% of India’s total carbon emissions, making freight a critical area for sustainable solutions. BEM has already:

  • Sold around 1,000 LNG trucks to Fortune 500 companies.
  • Achieved 60 million km in fleet operations.
  • Reduced over 15,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions to date.
