Kerala’s Rapid Expansion of EV Infrastructure
Kerala is moving quickly to expand its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. Through strategic partnerships and new initiatives, the state aims to make EV adoption accessible and convenient across all regions.
Key Highlights of Kerala’s EV Infrastructure Expansion
1. COSTECH and ESYGO Collaboration
COSTECH, in partnership with ESYGO, plans to establish 2,000 EV charging stations across Kerala by 2030. These stations will operate 24/7 and feature amenities such as coffee shops, internet cafes, and public information centers. This added convenience will enhance the user experience for EV owners statewide.
2. KSEB’s Role in Expanding Charging Facilities
The Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL) has also been expanding its network. KSEBL has already installed 63 DC fast charging stations for four-wheelers and 1,166 pole-mounted stations for two- and three-wheelers across all constituencies. These installations align with Kerala’s 2019 EV policy, which aims to support e-mobility in every district.
3. Startup Contributions: GO EC Autotech Pvt Limited
Kochi-based startup GO EC Autotech Pvt Limited is further strengthening Kerala’s EV landscape. The company plans to deploy 1,000 super-fast charging stations across India, with a focus on remote areas in Kerala. This effort will make EV charging more accessible, especially in underserved regions.

The state’s mix of government initiatives and private enterprise projects is making EV charging more available and convenient.
