BMW India has launched the new i5 Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 79.6 lakh. Locally manufactured at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the electric luxury sedan is available in the eDrive35L M Sport variant, with deliveries starting immediately.
669km Range And 268hp Electric Motor
The BMW i5 LWB is powered by an 81.6kWh battery pack and a single electric motor. The powertrain produces 268hp and 410Nm, enabling the sedan to accelerate from 0-100kph in 6.7 seconds.

Measuring 5,175mm long with a 3,105mm wheelbase, the i5 LWB offers increased rear-seat space. The cabin features BMW’s Curved Display, vegan upholstery, ventilated front comfort seats, four-zone climate control and a Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof.
A Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system is also standard.
First Edition Sold Out Before Launch
BMW has introduced a limited First Edition, priced at the same Rs 79.6 lakh. Only 99 units were offered, and BMW says all were sold before the official launch.
Advanced Safety And Technology
The i5 LWB gets BMW Operating System 8.5, Digital Key Plus and the MyBMW App, along with several driver-assistance systems.
