Ather Energy Expands to Sri Lanka, Aiming to Boost Electric Mobility in the Island Nation

Ather Energy, an electric vehicle manufacturer, has expanded its operations into Sri Lanka, marking its second international market after Nepal.

The company will open its first experience center in Sri Lanka later this year through a partnership with Evolution Auto, a joint venture between Sensei Capital Partners, Atman Group, and Sino Lanka Private Limited. Evolution Auto will serve as Ather Energy’s national distributor in Sri Lanka, handling sales and service operations.

Ather Energy plans to set up fast-charging grids across Sri Lanka to support the adoption of electric vehicles. The company’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela, emphasized the increasing preference for electric vehicles in Sri Lanka due to the economic and environmental benefits, and expressed confidence in appealing to Sri Lankan customers with Ather’s performance, design, and reliability. Zahran Ziyawudeen, CEO of Evolution Auto, expressed excitement about the collaboration and the mission to make eco-friendly electric mobility accessible and efficient in Sri Lanka.

Ather Energy has already established a presence in Nepal with three experience centers and seven fast-charging grids. The company has a range of electric scooters, including the 450S, 450X, 450 Apex, and the recently introduced Rizta, and is yet to announce which models will be available in Sri Lanka first.
