Bhago Mobility, in partnership with Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) and Honda Power Pack Energy India, has launched an electric last-mile mobility service at ITO Metro Station in Delhi under the BhaGoMo–iRide initiative.

The service aims to bridge the first- and last-mile connectivity gap for Delhi Metro commuters while providing a cleaner and convenient alternative for short urban journeys.

⚡ Connecting Metro Travel with Electric Mobility

The initiative integrates electric mobility directly with a high-footfall Metro station, allowing commuters to use EV-based transport for the portion of their journey beyond the Metro network.

The model combines three key elements:

  • Electric vehicles for last-mile transportation
  • Battery-swapping infrastructure for quick energy replenishment
  • Mobility operations to manage commuter services

🔋 Battery Swapping Could Boost Urban EV Usage

For high-utilisation last-mile vehicles, minimising charging downtime is critical. Battery swapping can allow vehicles to return to service quickly while reducing dependence on lengthy conventional charging sessions.

The approach could be particularly useful in densely populated urban areas where short-distance trips are frequent and turnaround time is important.

🚇 A New Role for Metro Stations

The BhaGoMo–iRide initiative highlights how Metro stations could evolve beyond being transit points and become integrated mobility hubs connecting commuters with electric last-mile services.

If the model proves operationally and economically sustainable, similar deployments could help improve connectivity around major public transport networks.

🌱 EVs as Part of a Larger Mobility Ecosystem

The initiative demonstrates that urban electrification is not simply about replacing conventional vehicles with EVs. Greater impact could come from integrating electric mobility with existing public transport systems.

Bhago Mobility’s partnership with Honda and Honda Power Pack Energy represents a step towards building a more connected, accessible and sustainable last-mile mobility ecosystem for Indian cities.
