Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has crossed 0.8 million cumulative connected-car sales in India and is targeting the 1-million milestone by 2027, highlighting the growing adoption of connected vehicle technology across its portfolio.

Connected Car Adoption Accelerates

Hyundai’s connected vehicle penetration has increased significantly, rising from 4% in 2019 to 20% in 2026. The company introduced its Bluelink connected car technology in India in 2019 with the Venue and has since expanded it across models such as the Creta, Venue and i20.

Hyundai has also introduced over-the-air (OTA) updates, enabling vehicles to receive software improvements without requiring a physical visit to a service centre.

Hyundai Eyes 2 Million Connected Cars by 2030

Beyond its 2027 target, HMIL aims to achieve more than 2 million cumulative connected-car sales by 2030. Its technology roadmap focuses on software-defined vehicles (SDVs), with the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) introduced in 2025.

The system enables controller-level OTA updates, supporting Hyundai’s strategy to make vehicles increasingly software-driven.

Bluelink Offers 70+ Connected Features

Hyundai Bluelink now provides more than 70 features across safety, security and convenience, including:

  • Remote vehicle monitoring and diagnostics
  • Location tracking and trip history
  • Remote vehicle commands
  • Hyundai Pay and Digital Key
  • Digital Passport
  • Remote Immobilizer
  • More than 450 AI-powered voice commands in five languages

Connected Technology Enhances Safety

Hyundai said its connected systems have assisted more than 500,000 motorists through SOS and roadside assistance services. The technology has also supported around 15,000 crash notification interventions and helped law-enforcement agencies trace and recover vehicles.

Next-Generation Technology for EVs

Hyundai’s upcoming mass-market electric SUV will feature next-generation connected car technology as standard across all variants. The move underlines HMIL’s focus on combining connected features with its growing electric vehicle portfolio.

Tarun Garg, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said the company remains focused on advancing software-defined mobility as it works towards the 1-million connected-car milestone by 2027.
