BatteryPool, an emerging EV energy solutions startup, has secured ₹8 crore in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), with participation from Indian Angel Network, Chennai Angels, Keiretsu Forum, and notable HNIs. This investment marks a significant boost for India’s growing EV ecosystem, especially for two- and three-wheeler segments that demand flexible and affordable charging solutions.

Its sachet-style, pay-as-you-go model allows EV riders to pay in small daily, weekly, or monthly amounts. This drastically lowers upfront costs and makes EVs far more accessible for commercial riders.

Funding to Power 10x Battery Fleet Expansion
With the newly raised ₹8 crore, BatteryPool aims to expand its battery fleet from 2,000+ units to over 20,000 within the next 18 months. This expansion will strengthen its nationwide footprint and support the rising adoption of EVs—India is set to add another 2 million electric two- and three-wheelers in FY25.
Vikram Ramasubramanian of IPV highlighted the need for fast, seamless energy access for commercial EV use, stating that BatteryPool monetizes batteries across their full lifecycle while keeping riders constantly mobile.
Led by Strong Technical Expertise
Founded in 2020 by Ashwin Shankar, a Stanford-trained engineer with experience at Schlumberger and NASA, BatteryPool combines deep engineering capability with a systems-level approach to electric mobility.
