Strategic Launch in Zirakpur Signals Northern Expansion
Yulu, India’s largest EBITDA-positive shared electric mobility company, has launched its services in Zirakpur, Punjab. This move marks its first franchise-based expansion in North India through its Yulu Business Partner (YBP) model. SP NexGen, led by entrepreneur Sahil Goyal, will manage the local operations.
Zirakpur’s strategic location near Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Ambala positions it as a prime hub for clean and efficient urban mobility solutions. Yulu aims to serve the region’s growing demand for sustainable delivery options.
Meeting the Demand for Green Delivery
The Tricity region is experiencing rising demand from grocery, food delivery, and e-commerce brands. Yulu’s entry provides a cost-effective, eco-friendly solution for delivery riders and businesses alike.
SP NexGen will begin operations with Yulu’s purpose-built DeX GR EVs. Initial deployment is in Zirakpur, with plans to expand into Peer Muchalla and Kharar.
A Strong Franchise Model Backed by Tech and Training
Yulu’s support goes beyond just hardware. The company offers full-stack assistance to partners. This includes:
- Operational training
- Business growth playbooks
- Profitability planning
- Collaboration with delivery platforms
Ahead of the launch, Yulu ran pilot programs with dark stores in Zirakpur. This validated product-market fit. Yulu also facilitated business ties with major brands like Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, and Blinkit.
Leadership Speaks on EV Expansion Vision
Amit Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Yulu, called the Tricity region an ideal gateway to expand in the North. He highlighted the synergy between urban growth, policy support, and the demand for clean mobility.
“With Sahil Goyal as our partner, we’re confident in scaling our impact in North India. Our goal is to democratise access to sustainable and efficient delivery solutions,” Gupta said.
Sahil Goyal added, “We aim to ‘Yulu-fy’ Zirakpur and beyond. With the growing demand for sustainable deliveries, this partnership is set to make a tangible difference.”
Powered by Yuma Energy’s Swapping Infrastructure
Yulu’s EV fleet in Zirakpur will be powered by Yuma Energy, its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) subsidiary. Two battery swapping stations are operational, with more planned as demand scales.
