Size-adaptive electric motorcycle targets young riders
VIDA, the electric mobility brand under Hero MotoCorp, has launched the DIRT.E K3, an electric motorcycle designed specifically for children aged 4–10 years. Introduced at an introductory price of ₹69,990 for the first 300 units, the model aims to address a key challenge in youth mobility outgrowing products too quickly. Its three-stage adjustable design allows the motorcycle to transform from small to medium to large using a single tool, offering multi-year usability. Retail sales begin January 15, 2026.
Electric powertrain with connected parental controls
The DIRT.E K3 is powered by a 350W continuous / 500W peak motor paired with a 360Wh removable battery. The battery charges from 0–100% in approximately three hours and provides up to three hours of riding time depending on terrain and mode. VIDA offers three progressive ride modes: Beginner (8 km/h), Amateur (16 km/h), and Pro (25 km/h). Parents can manage speed limits, lock modes, and monitor use through app-enabled controls. The battery uses a magnetic connector and sealed housing for protection against dust and moisture.
Safety-first features designed for young riders
VIDA has equipped the motorcycle with a 16-inch spoked wheel, single rear hydraulic disc brake, and a child-scaled brake lever. Safety enhancements include an impact-absorbing structure, over-molded wiring harness, and a magnetic lanyard-based kill switch that cuts power if the child is separated from the bike. The adjustable frame scales in height and wheelbase to maintain ergonomics as children grow. The model will be offered in three colors Red, Purple, and White with deliveries initially planned across Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur, and Calicut.
Global design inputs and award-winning product
The DIRT.E K3 was conceptualized and designed collaboratively at Hero Tech Centre Germany and the Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur. Production will take place at the Tirupati manufacturing facility, home to the VIDA EV line. The product has already received the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and CES Innovation Award Honoree 2026, underscoring its design and engineering sophistication. VIDA positions the DIRT.E platform as the foundation for a new ecosystem of safe, progressive off-road mobility for young riders.
