India’s Autonomous EV Revolution Gets a Major Boost
Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has expanded its autonomous electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of Swayamgati Cargo, the world’s first autonomous electric cargo three-wheeler. Priced at ₹4.15 lakh, the vehicle introduces affordable, scalable self-driving technology to India’s logistics and industrial mobility sectors. Bookings open today, with deliveries scheduled to begin this quarter.
A Game-Changer for Industrial & Campus Logistics
Designed for controlled environments such as industrial parks, SEZs, airports, and e-commerce hubs, Swayamgati Cargo is built on OSM’s proven Swayamgati passenger autonomy platform. The vehicle integrates an AI-driven autonomy stack featuring:
- Lidar and GPS-based navigation
- Multi-sensor obstacle detection up to 6 meters
- Geofenced mapping for pre-designed routes
- Remote fleet monitoring and control
With a driving range of up to 120 km, it is optimized for repetitive cargo movement and reduces dependence on manual labour.
Leadership Speaks: Vision to Democratize Autonomous Mobility
Dr. Uday Narang, Founder & Chairman of OSM, emphasized that the launch proves India can engineer and produce advanced autonomy at scale and at cost. Chief Strategy Officer Vivek Dhawan added that the cargo variant will play a critical role in building a smart, predictable, low-error logistics infrastructure.
From Trials to Commercial Deployment
The cargo variant comes after a successful Phase 1 pilot on a 3 km route, featuring multiple stops and seamless autonomous navigation. It now enters Phase 2, targeting real-world deployments across India.
Powered by Strong Manufacturing & Service Networks
With production facilities in Faridabad and Chakan, and a service network of 200+ touchpoints, OSM is prepared to scale to 1,500 autonomous units over the next 24 months.
