Exicom Launches Harmony Direct 2.0 to Advance India’s EV Charging Infrastructure

Greaves Electric Mobility

Exicom, a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging and critical power solutions, has launched Harmony Direct 2.0, a next-generation DC fast charger designed to address key challenges in India’s growing EV ecosystem. Introduced at a dedicated industry event, Harmony Direct 2.0 is positioned as a major step toward enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of EV charging infrastructure across the country.

Powered by Harmony OS, India’s first indigenously developed operating system for EV chargers, Harmony Direct 2.0 manages seamless communication between the charger, vehicle, and cloud. The system features sensor-based diagnostics and AI-enabled remote management through Harmony Connect, which minimizes downtime and boosts operational reliability for charging station operators.

Key features of Harmony Direct 2.0 include dynamic load sharing between plugs to optimize power use and reduce energy losses, real-time energy optimization to cut reactive power costs, and Harmony Net—a technology enabling intelligent load management across multiple chargers for flexible deployment. The charger also supports multi-stack charging logic, allowing operators to define and adapt multiple charging strategies based on user segmentation or time of day, without manual intervention. Its user interface is modeled on smartphone interactions, and the ergonomic cable and connector design ensures ease of use for both individual drivers and fleet operators.

Exicom’s leadership emphasized that the new charger reflects the company’s focus on operational robustness and user experience, both critical to accelerating EV adoption in India. “With Harmony Direct 2.0, we’ve engineered a product that transcends traditional charging solutions and sets a new standard for infrastructure robustness, operational economics, and intuitive user experience,” said Anant Nahata, Managing Director and CEO of Exicom.

As India’s EV market expands, Exicom aims to address major barriers to adoption by offering infrastructure that meets current needs and adapts to future requirements. The company operates across the full EV charger value chain, with over 150,000 chargers installed globally and a presence in markets including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the US, and Europe. Harmony Direct 2.0 is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting India’s transition to sustainable transportation by providing reliable, scalable, and intelligent charging solutions.
