Ola Electric has announced a significant shift in its retail strategy by opening its sales and service network to dealer partners across India. The move marks a new phase for the EV manufacturer, which has primarily relied on company-owned stores since launching its first electric scooters five years ago.

The company said the revised strategy reflects the growing maturity of India’s electric two-wheeler market and is designed to strengthen its presence in cities, towns, and rural markets. Ola Electric aims to establish a meaningful nationwide dealership footprint by Diwali 2026.

Company-Owned Stores to Focus on Brand Experience

Under the new model, Ola Electric’s company-owned outlets will serve as premium experience centres where customers can explore the brand, test products, and receive product guidance. Meanwhile, dealer partners will manage local sales, deliveries, and aftersales support, helping the company expand its reach more efficiently.

Speaking on the transition, Chairman and Managing Director Bhavish Aggarwal said company stores will showcase the brand at its best, while dealer partners will bring that experience to every neighbourhood across India.

Key Benefits for Dealer Partners

The dealership programme offers several growth opportunities, including:

  • Access to over one million Ola Electric customers
  • Sales of electric scooters, motorcycles, and energy products
  • Recurring revenue from vehicle servicing and maintenance
  • Opportunity to benefit from upcoming energy product launches
  • Strong local market presence backed by the Ola Electric brand

BVR Subbu Returns to Support Expansion

To strengthen the rollout, automotive industry veteran BVR Subbu, former President of Hyundai Motor India, has rejoined Ola Electric as Senior Advisor. Having previously served on the company’s board, Subbu will support the nationwide expansion of the dealer network and guide its implementation strategy.

Strengthening India’s EV Ecosystem

The company said the decision follows extensive discussions with dealer partners across the country, who highlighted Ola Electric’s expanding product portfolio and growing customer base as key drivers for future business. With a hybrid retail model combining experience centres and dealer-operated outlets, Ola Electric aims to improve customer accessibility while accelerating electric vehicle adoption across India.
