Mazda unveils CX-6e electric crossover SUV at Brussels Motor Show 2026

Greaves Electric Mobility

Global debut and launch timeline

Mazda Motor Corporation has unveiled the MAZDA CX-6e, a new battery electric crossover SUV, at the Brussels Motor Show 2026. The CX-6e is scheduled to launch in Europe during summer 2026, with Australia set to follow later in the year. The model represents a key step in Mazda’s global electrification roadmap as it expands its battery electric vehicle portfolio.

Collaborative development and EV platform

The CX-6e is Mazda’s second globally introduced collaborative battery EV, following the MAZDA 6e sedan. The SUV builds on the EZ-60 concept that was showcased in Shanghai in 2025 and has been developed in collaboration with Chongqing Changan Automobile.

Mazda stated that the CX-6e integrates its core design principles and “Jinba-ittai” philosophy, which focuses on seamless harmony between driver and vehicle, with modern electrification and intelligent vehicle technologies. The collaboration enables Mazda to combine its driving dynamics expertise with advanced EV systems and digital capabilities.

Expanding Mazda’s electric portfolio

The CX-6e expands Mazda’s electric lineup following the launch of the MAZDA 6e sedan, which has recorded over 7,000 cumulative sales in Europe since its introduction in September 2025. The positive market response to the MAZDA 6e has provided momentum for Mazda’s broader EV strategy, particularly in Europe where emission regulations and EV adoption are accelerating.

With the CX-6e positioned in the electric crossover SUV segment, Mazda aims to address growing consumer demand for practical, design-focused EVs that combine performance, efficiency, and intelligent features. The model is expected to play a strategic role in strengthening Mazda’s EV presence across multiple global markets.

Mazda continues to pursue a phased electrification approach, balancing internal development with strategic partnerships, as it transitions its portfolio toward battery electric mobility while retaining its brand-specific driving character.
