Electrolyzer and emissions testing technologies take centre stage

At the Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT) 2026 in Pune, HORIBA India presented a range of cutting-edge automotive testing and validation systems tailored to the needs of OEMs, suppliers, and R&D teams. A standout reveal was a locally developed Electrolyzer Test Station, co-created with the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune. This platform is designed to assess the performance and reliability of electrolyzers, supporting India’s growing focus on green hydrogen production and industrial applications. The local development also aligns with HORIBA’s broader commitment to building domestic testing infrastructure.

In addition to hydrogen testing, HORIBA India showcased solutions aimed at ensuring compliance with stringent emissions regulations. The company featured its MEXACube PEMS system a portable emissions measurement system for capturing real-world driving emissions and the OBS-ONE-PN10 particulate monitoring system. These tools help automotive developers prepare for future regulatory frameworks such as Euro 7 and BS7 standards, which require highly precise and comprehensive emissions data.

EV charging validation and WLTP energy measurement

Responding to the rapid rise of electrified mobility, HORIBA India also displayed its EVCM-ONE system, which measures electric vehicle charging energy under WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light vehicles Test Procedure) conditions. This technology provides manufacturers with critical insights into energy consumption and charging efficiency, helping optimise EV powertrain performance and customer experience. Combined with emissions and hydrogen test systems, EVCM-ONE reinforces HORIBA’s comprehensive testing portfolio for traditional and emerging powertrain technologies.

The company’s participation at SIAT 2026 coincided with a national dialogue on innovation and sustainability in mobility, underscored by discussions on emission reduction, alternative fuels, and next-generation vehicle technologies. HORIBA India’s expanded suite of testing solutions highlights its role in equipping the automotive industry with tools to navigate evolving standards and validate performance across conventional, electrified, and hydrogen-based platforms.
