Gujarat Partners with KP Group to Launch ₹8,000 Crore Hydrogen and EV Fuel Station Network, Creating 1,000 Green Jobs by 2026

Greaves Electric Mobility

The Gujarat government has recently signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KP Group to develop hydrogen and electric vehicle (EV) fuel stations across the state, further strengthening Gujarat’s clean energy and e-mobility ecosystem.

MoU Signed at Vibrant Gujarat Conference

The agreement was formalized on October 9, 2025, in Mehsana during the ‘Investment Promotion Activity’ for the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference. Under this MoU, KP Group, a Gujarat-based conglomerate, will establish a large-scale network of hydrogen and EV fuel stations across the state, with an initial focus on Banaskantha district.

  • Projected investment: ₹8,000 crore
  • Estimated project completion: By 2026
  • Potential job creation: Around 1,000 positions

This collaboration is designed to boost clean energy solutions while creating employment and positioning Gujarat as a leader in green mobility initiatives.

Government Support and Facilitation

The Gujarat government has committed to assist KP Group in obtaining all necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances through relevant state departments. This proactive support is expected to ensure the timely establishment of the project, in line with Gujarat’s policies to promote rapid clean energy and infrastructure growth.

KP Group’s Innovation Track Record

KP Group’s recent partnership builds on its legacy of green energy innovation. Previously, the group collaborated with Delta Electronics India—an industry leader in energy and power management solutions—by signing three strategic MoUs focusing on:

  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Green hydrogen and EV charging infrastructure
  • Solar PV inverters

Together, KP Group and Delta Electronics have set out to:

  • Design and deploy integrated green hydrogen refueling and EV charging stations across India
  • Harness renewable energy for green hydrogen production
  • Implement advanced energy management, hydrogen compression, and dispensing technologies
  • Supply and operate AC and DC fast EV chargers, software for real-time monitoring, and integrated billing platforms

Focus on Technology and Skill Development

A major aspect of this initiative is the integrated approach: Delta is not only providing hardware and technology, but will also train KP Group teams in the safe and efficient operation of hydrogen and EV stations. Key components of the collaboration include:

  • Energy management systems for optimized grid usage
  • Training programs by Delta for KP Group employees
  • Real-time tracking and digital billing for end-users
  • Renewable-powered hydrogen production facilities

This collaboration intends to set new benchmarks for reliability, safety, and efficiency in India’s green mobility space.

Outlook

By 2026, KP Group’s investment is set to make Banaskantha and wider Gujarat a hub for hydrogen and EV infrastructure, catalyzing clean transport and green jobs. With government support and technological expertise from partners like Delta Electronics, the project is expected to become a model for similar ventures across India.
