Joint Effort to Expand EV Leasing and Fleet Operations
Greaves Electric Mobility Ltd (GEML) has teamed up with leasing and fleet-management firm ALT Mobility to deploy over 700 electric two-wheelers across Delhi and Bengaluru. Under the agreement, GEML will supply its Ampere EVs, while ALT Mobility will manage procurement, leasing, and fleet operations. The collaboration strengthens the EV value chain by combining manufacturing prowess with fleet-level service infrastructure and operational scale.
Ampere Magnus SW S Targeted at Gig Riders, Last-Mile Delivery
The vehicles earmarked for deployment belong to Ampere’s Magnus SW S platform built to meet demands of high-usage urban mobility segments like delivery, ride-hailing, and shared mobility. GEML’s product specifications and ALT Mobility’s leasing model are designed for commercial viability, predictable fleet uptime, and maintenance support. This addresses a key barrier to EV adoption in the gig-economy and small-fleet market, improving affordability and reducing operational risk.
Strategic Implications for EV Adoption and Urban Mobility
This partnership reflects a strategic shift in India’s EV transition: not just selling vehicles, but delivering end-to-end mobility solutions. With fleet-scale leasing and managed operation, EVs become accessible to operators who previously relied on internal combustion or informal vehicles. By combining scale with structured support, the collaboration could catalyse further electrification of last-mile logistics and urban rides especially in high-demand routes like Delhi and Bengaluru.
As India’s EV ecosystem matures, such integrated manufacturer–fleet operator alliances could become a blueprint for sustainable urban mobility and accelerate adoption among commercial users.
