Ferrari EV Strategy Complements ICE Vehicles, CEO Benedetto Vigna Confirms at LA Auto Show

Greaves Electric Mobility

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna unveiled the company’s electrification roadmap at the Los Angeles Auto Show. He positions EVs as a complement to the brand’s revered internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Ferrari commits to its first battery-electric road car in 2025, followed by a high-performance EV SUV in 2027.

Ferrari’s Dual Powertrain Commitment

Vigna declared Ferrari will “never abandon our combustion engine cars.” The brand prioritizes client preferences for V6, V8, and V12 engines amid rising EV mandates. This approach balances regulatory pressures with Ferrari’s heritage of petrol-powered exhilaration.

2025 EV Launch and SUV Follow-Up

Engineers target a 2025 debut for Ferrari’s inaugural EV road car. A dedicated EV SUV arrives in 2027, expanding the lineup. Vigna highlighted these models enhance, rather than replace, existing offerings like the Purosangue SUV.

Balancing Regulations and Client Demand

EU electrification rules drive Ferrari’s EV shift, yet Vigna focuses on customer choice. The strategy ensures ICE icons persist alongside zero-emission options. Ferrari adapts without diluting its performance DNA.
