JLR has officially launched the Range Rover Electric in India, marking the luxury SUV brand’s entry into the fully electric vehicle segment. Orders open in September 2026, with the electric SUV offered in multiple short- and long-wheelbase configurations.

Powerful Electric Performance

The Range Rover Electric uses dual 260 kW permanent-magnet motors, delivering a combined 405 kW and 850 Nm.

  • 0–100 km/h: 4.5 seconds
  • 80–120 km/h: 2.7 seconds
  • Battery: 118.5 kWh
  • Architecture: 800V
  • Claimed WLTP range: up to 600 km

350 kW Fast Charging Capability

The 800V system enables rapid charging, with a 10–80% charge taking around 22 minutes using a 350 kW DC charger. JLR also claims that 10 minutes of charging can add up to 220 km of range.

Built for Luxury and Extreme Terrain

Despite its electric powertrain, the Range Rover Electric retains the brand’s off-road credentials. It can wade through 900 mm of water, while its Integrated Traction Management system rapidly adjusts motor response to maintain grip.

The SUV also features twin-chamber air suspension and a lower centre of gravity for improved stability.

Advanced Battery and Thermal Technology

JLR’s ThermAssist heat-management system is designed to improve battery performance in extreme temperatures, potentially adding up to 40 km of range and reducing heating energy consumption by 40%.

A Battery Digital Twin monitors more than 900 diagnostic data points, supporting predictive maintenance and over-the-air software updates.

Multiple Variants for Indian Buyers

The Range Rover Electric will be available in:

  • Autobiography short-wheelbase
  • SV long-wheelbase
  • SV Ultra
  • SV Black
  • First Edition

The SUV is manufactured at JLR’s Solihull plant in the UK, with electric drive units and battery packs produced at Wolverhampton.

The Range Rover Electric represents a major step in JLR’s electrification strategy, bringing its flagship luxury SUV into the growing premium EV market.
