Chartered Speed Limited has expanded its electric bus operations across Rajasthan, deploying e-buses in all eight primary urban centres under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme. The rollout covers Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bhilwara and Alwar.
The expansion has increased electric vehicles’ share of Chartered Speed’s nationwide fleet from around 10% to 25%. The company currently operates more than 2,000 buses across its mobility businesses.
71 E-Buses Now Operating Across Rajasthan
The latest deployment comprises 71 electric buses across the eight cities:
- 24 e-buses have commenced operations in Jaipur and Bhilwara.
- 47 e-buses have been deployed across Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota, Alwar, Ajmer and Jodhpur.
- The rollout forms part of a larger order for more than 800 buses in Rajasthan.
Chartered Speed said its nationwide operations serve more than 3.5 lakh passengers every day, highlighting the scale of its public and shared mobility operations.
800+ Bus Order To Strengthen EV Mobility
According to Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director at Chartered Speed, the Rajasthan expansion involves more than 800 electric buses, supported by a 22MW charging infrastructure backbone.
The company aims to integrate electric buses into high-density urban corridors while developing the charging infrastructure required for large-scale electric mass transit.
Expansion To Create 1,500+ Jobs
The Rajasthan deployment is also expected to generate more than 1,500 direct skilled jobs across:
- Fleet management and operations
- Telemetry and technology
- Technical maintenance
- Driving operations
Established in 2010, Chartered Speed operates intercity and intra-city transport services across six states, with businesses spanning public transport, employee mobility, school transportation and electric mobility.
