India’s EV charging ecosystem is evolving beyond infrastructure deployment towards a more connected and user-friendly experience. Bolt.Earth has partnered with MapmyIndia to improve EV charger discovery by integrating its charging network into one of India’s leading digital mapping and navigation platforms.
The collaboration aims to make charging stations easier to locate while improving accessibility for EV users across the country.
Connecting Charging Infrastructure With Navigation
As part of the partnership, Bolt.Earth has integrated approximately 350 Level 2 and Level 3 chargers into the MapmyIndia platform using the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol.
Key highlights of the integration include:
• Around 350 Bolt.Earth chargers added to MapmyIndia
• Support for Level 2 and DC fast chargers
• Integration enabled through OCPI standards
• Improved charger visibility through navigation services
• Easier access to charging infrastructure for EV users
The initiative is designed to help drivers seamlessly locate charging points through the platforms they already use for navigation.
Expanding EV Charger Discoverability
The partnership significantly expands charger visibility across India’s growing EV ecosystem.
Network highlights include:
• More than 18,000 chargers discoverable through MapmyIndia
• Bolt.Earth network spread across 2,000+ cities
• More than 100,000 chargers deployed by Bolt.Earth
• Support for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers
Improved discoverability can help increase charger utilisation while reducing range anxiety among EV users.
Why This Partnership Matters
As charging networks continue to expand, accessibility and interoperability are becoming just as important as charger deployment. The ability to easily find and navigate to charging stations can significantly improve the EV ownership experience.
The Bolt.Earth–MapmyIndia collaboration reflects a broader industry shift towards connected charging ecosystems where charging providers, navigation platforms, and digital services work together to create a seamless user journey. As EV adoption accelerates, such integrations are expected to play a critical role in making charging infrastructure more accessible, visible, and convenient for users across India.
