A Significant Step for Aerospace Sustainability
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signaled a new era in industrial sustainability by launching a fleet of 59 Electric Vehicles (EVs) under its ambitious ‘Go Green’ initiative. Flagged off by Chairman & Managing Director Dr. D.K. Sunil at the Bengaluru headquarters, this move reinforces HAL’s commitment to integrating eco-friendly mobility into India’s aerospace sector. Senior leadership and CEOs from various divisions joined the event, underlining the company-wide focus on sustainability.
Strategic Deployment Across Key Divisions
This first phase sees the EV fleet—supplied by Convergence Energy Service Limited (CESL)—deployed across HAL divisions in Bengaluru, Nasik, Koraput, and Lucknow. With dedicated EV charging stations already established at its facilities, HAL ensures a seamless, future-ready transition. These vehicles will streamline intra-campus transport operations, and the company has already mapped out plans to extend EV adoption to all operational units nationwide.
A Broader Commitment to Sustainability
HAL’s green mobility push is part of a much larger sustainability effort. The organization is also running energy and water conservation programs, spearheading river rejuvenation, and investing in advanced waste management systems. These initiatives are integral to HAL’s wider mission: reducing its carbon footprint and embedding sustainable business practices across every level of its operations.
Setting a New Standard for Industry
With the ‘Go Green’ initiative, HAL has established itself as an early mover among defence PSUs adopting structured, large-scale clean mobility solutions. By embedding environmental stewardship into its core mission, HAL is charting a course not only for the aerospace industry but for India’s broader industrial sector—showing that economic development and ecological responsibility can move forward together.
