(TPEML) have unveiled the country’s largest EV charging hub in Mumbai. The launch coincided with World EV Day 2025, underscoring Tata Group’s commitment to building sustainable mobility infrastructure.
State-of-the-Art TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub
The new TATA.ev MegaCharger facility is located at The Leela, near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. It is the first co-branded charging hub by Tata Power and TPEML, designed to cater to both private and commercial EV users.
Key highlights of the hub include:
- 8 fast DC chargers with speeds up to 120 kW
- 16 charging bays allowing multiple vehicles to charge simultaneously
- 24/7 operations powered entirely by renewable energy
- Convenient access for private car owners, fleet operators, and business travelers
Leaders Speak on India’s EV Future
Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, highlighted the hub as part of an integrated approach to green mobility, with similar facilities planned across major cities.
Shailesh Chandra, MD of TPEML and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., described it as a milestone in India’s EV ecosystem, emphasizing the long-standing collaboration between the two companies.
Tata Power’s Expanding EV Network
This hub strengthens Tata Power’s existing presence in Mumbai with 1,000+ charging points. Nationwide, the company operates:
- 5,500+ public and captive chargers
- 1.4 lakh home chargers
- 1,200+ bus charging points across 630+ cities
Future targets include 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030.
