Battery swap via delivery model targets charging infrastructure gaps

RapidE Power has entered into a strategic partnership with iGo Wise Mobility (iGo) to deploy its Battery Swap via Delivery service across key Indian cities. The initiative integrates RapidE Power’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) framework with iGo’s BeiGO X4 rugged utility vehicle (RUV) to offer doorstep battery swapping. The model aims to reduce dependence on home, workplace and public charging infrastructure, addressing a major barrier to EV adoption.

Customers can subscribe through a security deposit and monthly payment structure, with charged batteries delivered at scheduled intervals. By eliminating long charging downtimes, the solution is positioned as a practical alternative for high-utilisation EV users. The approach also enables predictable energy costs while shifting battery ownership and lifecycle management away from the end user.

Designed for B2B fleets and individual EV users

The service is targeted at both B2B and B2C segments, including fleet operators, last-mile delivery companies and individual EV consumers. RapidE Power stated that the partnership supports its expansion from two-wheelers into three-wheelers and trikes, broadening its addressable market. The battery subscription model is expected to improve fleet uptime and operational efficiency, particularly in urban environments with limited charging access.

iGo Wise Mobility highlighted the BeiGO X4’s utility-focused design, which allows it to operate efficiently in dense city conditions while handling battery transport requirements. The multi-wheel EV platform is positioned as a scalable logistics solution for energy delivery rather than passenger movement alone.

Phased rollout across multiple states

The service is scheduled to go live initially in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, two cities with high EV adoption and fleet density. Following the initial deployment, RapidE Power and iGo plan to expand operations into Maharashtra and Odisha, with further cities expected in subsequent phases. The collaboration reflects a broader shift toward service-driven EV energy models as India’s electric mobility ecosystem evolves beyond conventional charging networks.
