RIICO Allots 65.56 Acres for New EV Manufacturing Facility

PMI Electro Mobility is investing ₹1,200 crore to set up a cutting-edge electric bus and commercial vehicle manufacturing facility in Ghiloth, Rajasthan. The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) has officially allotted 65.56 acres of land, valued at ₹208 crore, for this large-scale project on October 14, 2025. The facility will mark one of the largest EV manufacturing investments in northern India.

Production Capacity and Economic Impact

The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 33,000 units, beginning with 40% operational capacity and ramping up to full-scale production over six years. As the plant expands, PMI expects its turnover to rise from ₹6,180 crore to ₹15,450 crore, demonstrating strong growth prospects in the e-mobility sector. The project is also set to generate more than 500 direct employment opportunities, boosting local industrial and economic development in Rajasthan.

Strengthening India’s EV Manufacturing Ecosystem

PMI’s new venture highlights the growing importance of Rajasthan as an emerging EV manufacturing hub. The company aims to produce electric buses, critical components, and a range of electric commercial vehicles at this site. With India’s push for localized production and green transport under the Make in India and FAME initiatives, PMI’s investment could play a pivotal role in expanding the country’s e-bus supply chain and export capabilities.
