Octillion Unveils India’s First Fully Solar-Powered EV Battery Plant in Pune

Greaves Electric Mobility

Pioneering Carbon-Neutral Production

Octillion completes solar conversion at its 8,200 sqm Pune facility, generating 545 MWh clean energy yearly to power 3 GWh annual EV battery output. The plant, inaugurated in June 2023, now runs 100% carbon-free, serving India’s surging EV demand. This marks the first of Octillion’s three India factories to achieve full solar reliance.

Rapid Deployment and Scale

Conversion began in June 2024 and hit full operation by July 2025, showcasing efficient rooftop solar integration. The setup fully offsets the facility’s power needs despite its football-pitch size. Octillion targets carbon neutrality across all India sites by 2027 via expanded solar initiatives.

Strategic Push for EV Sustainability

This aligns with Octillion’s lifecycle commitment to green EV batteries, reducing reliance on fossil fuels in manufacturing. India’s EV market benefits from localized, eco-friendly production amid rapid adoption. Global peers may replicate this model for competitive sustainability edges.
