EV Magazine Issue 10

Maharashtra approved Rs 60 crore for EV incentives and toll reimbursements under the Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy 2025. The funds clear backlog from Policy 2021 and support new claims, targeting electric 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and 4-wheelers. Disbursal follows committee verification of sales data from manufacturers.

Breakdown of Funds

Rs 30 crore addresses pending incentives under the 2021 policy. An additional Rs 26 crore funds demand-side incentives under the 2025 policy for verified vehicle sales. Rs 4 crore reimburses toll exemptions to MSRDC and MMRDA, easing EV ownership costs. Eligible firms include Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, Ather Energy, Piaggio, and Euler Motors.

Implementation and Compliance

A committee chaired by additional chief secretary (transport) reviewed claims and compliance. Funds release on first-come, first-served basis with strict utilization certificates. Transport department oversees as controlling authority. This liquidity aids OEMs while advancing emission cuts via fiscal perks and waivers.
