AstraNova Expands Beyond Two-Wheelers
AstraNova Mobility has officially expanded into the electric bus segment through a strategic partnership with Zingbus, one of India’s fastest-growing intercity mobility platforms. This marks a significant milestone for AstraNova, which has built its foundation in electric two-wheelers and is now scaling into large-format commercial EVs to tap the growing demand for clean long-distance transportation in India.
Electric Buses to Serve High-Demand Routes
Under the collaboration, AstraNova and Zingbus will deploy electric buses on key northern intercity routes, including high-traffic corridors where diesel buses still dominate. These buses are designed to offer smoother rides, reduced operating costs, and lower emissions. With rising fuel prices and increasing regulatory pressure for cleaner fleets, electric buses offer a compelling alternative for both operators and passengers. Zingbus will integrate the new electric fleet into its online booking platform and route network to ensure strong utilisation from day one.
Building Capacity for Cleaner Public Mobility
The partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward sustainable public transport. AstraNova aims to strengthen its engineering and manufacturing capabilities to support this new segment, while Zingbus brings operational expertise and route intelligence. Together, they plan to scale deployment across more cities in the coming months. As state transport bodies and private operators push for greener fleets, the AstraNova–Zingbus model could become a template for future private-sector EV collaborations.
