Bijliride and Telangana Women Safety Wing Train 500 Women in Hyderabad for EV Mobility Livelihoods

Volume 1 Issue 11

Bijliride has partnered with the Telangana Women Safety Wing (TWSW) to train and support over 500 women in Hyderabad for electric mobility-driven livelihood opportunities.

Launched in February 2026, the initiative aims to promote economic independence by enabling women to participate directly in the city’s growing EV ecosystem. The programme included structured community outreach, skill development training, licensing facilitation, and professional onboarding support.

Creating Income Pathways Through Electric Mobility

Women trained under the initiative are now equipped to work as two-wheeler taxi drivers and electric auto operators. By focusing on driving-based professions, the programme creates direct income opportunities while strengthening Hyderabad’s last-mile connectivity network.

The collaboration aligns with TWSW’s broader mandate to promote safety, dignity, and empowerment for women across Telangana. At the same time, it supports the state’s push toward cleaner and more sustainable urban transportation solutions.

Speaking about the initiative, Vishal Vikram, Chief Marketing Officer at Bijliride, emphasized the company’s belief that mobility can be a powerful catalyst for social and economic transformation. The programme also coincides with Women’s Day, reinforcing its focus on empowerment.

Scaling Inclusive EV Growth

Founded in 2020, Bijliride operates a fleet of more than 4,000 EVs across major Indian cities. Its portfolio includes vehicle rentals, battery swapping, and enterprise fleet management solutions. The company has set a target of enabling one million users by 2030 as part of its sustainable mobility vision.

As India accelerates electric vehicle adoption, workforce-focused initiatives such as this demonstrate how clean mobility can drive both environmental and socio-economic impact.
