Strategic Greenfield Facility

Ashok Leyland opened a 70-acre greenfield plant in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, marking Uttar Pradesh’s first dedicated e-bus manufacturing unit.​Built in a record 16 months, the facility starts with 2,500 vehicles annual capacity, expandable to 5,000.Switch Mobility, Ashok Leyland’s EV arm, will produce electric buses, travellers, and cargo vehicles alongside ICE and alt-fuel options.

Sustainable Design and Investments

The plant invests ₹252 crore initially, with ₹1,000 crore total planned, incorporating rooftop solar, LED lighting, battery-operated logistics, and zero-discharge systems.​It generates 1,000 direct jobs and 2,000 indirect, boosting local economy.​Inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

Market and Expansion Focus
