Ultraviolette Introduces Battery Flex Ownership Model
Ultraviolette Automotive has launched a new Battery-as-a-Service program called Battery Flex. The company developed this program with Ecofy. The goal is to make the Ultraviolette X-47 electric crossover more affordable.
With this plan, customers buy the motorcycle chassis first. They then subscribe to the battery separately. Because of this model, the X-47 now starts at ₹1,49,000. This price is about 40% lower than the full purchase cost.
Mission: Make Performance EV Motorcycles More Accessible
The mission behind Battery Flex is simple. Ultraviolette wants more riders to access advanced electric motorcycles. The company aims to remove high upfront costs that often slow EV adoption.
Therefore, customers can pay a monthly battery subscription. The plan begins at ₹2,499 per month. In addition, the battery comes with a five-year warranty. This approach reduces financial pressure on buyers.
Benefits for Riders and the EV Market
Battery Flex helps riders enter the EV market with less investment. Riders also benefit from predictable monthly costs. In many cases, the monthly fee is lower than typical petrol spending.
At the end of the subscription period, the battery ownership moves to the customer at no extra cost. This creates long-term value for buyers. As a result, Ultraviolette hopes to accelerate electric motorcycle adoption across India.
