Puducherry strengthens sustainable transport network
The Union Territory of Puducherry has rolled out 25 Olectra electric buses under the Smart City initiative, reinforcing its commitment to clean and sustainable mobility. The deployment, carried out through the Puducherry Smart City Development Limited (PSCDL), marks a major milestone in the city’s transition to zero-emission public transport.
Supporting the Smart City and EV mission
These electric buses will serve intra-city routes, connecting major urban and suburban corridors. The move aligns with India’s national goals of decarbonizing transport and promoting electric mobility through local governance. By integrating e-buses into its Smart City framework, Puducherry aims to reduce urban air pollution and offer reliable, cost-effective mobility to citizens.
Olectra’s growing footprint in public e-mobility
Olectra Greentech, a leading manufacturer in India’s electric bus segment, continues to expand its presence through strategic government collaborations. The company’s deployments across multiple states—including Telangana, Maharashtra, and Kerala—underscore the scalability and dependability of its technology for sustainable urban fleets.
