Kia Carens Clavis EV Set for July 15 Debut: India’s First Mass-Market Seven-Seater Electric MPV

Greaves Electric Mobility

Kia is poised to make a significant impact on India’s electric vehicle landscape with the upcoming launch of the Carens Clavis EV on July 15, 2025. This highly anticipated model will be the country’s first mass-market seven-seater electric MPV, blending family practicality, premium features, and sustainable performance at an accessible price point.

Distinctive Design with EV-Exclusive Elements

The Carens Clavis EV will largely mirror the design of its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling but will stand out with several EV-specific enhancements. Expect a sealed-off grille, aero-optimized alloy wheels, and exclusive EV badging. Signature Star Map LED DRLs, triple-pod LED headlamps, and connected LED tail lamps will give the MPV a modern, futuristic appeal.

Premium, Tech-Forward Interior

Inside, the Clavis EV promises an elevated cabin experience. The highlight is a massive 26.62-inch dual-screen display that merges the infotainment system with a digital instrument cluster. Other premium features include ventilated front seats, a 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, smart air purifier, ambient lighting, wireless charging, rear AC vents, and an 8-speaker BOSE sound system. Flexible 6- and 7-seater configurations ensure comfort and practicality for large families.

Efficient Powertrain and Fast Charging

The Carens Clavis EV is expected to offer two battery pack options: 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The smaller pack, paired with a 135bhp motor, delivers an estimated 390km range, while the larger 171hp setup can provide up to 473km. Charging is convenient with 11kW AC fast charging (full charge in 4–4.8 hours) and 50kW DC fast charging (10% to 80% in under an hour).

Advanced Safety and Smart Features

Kia equips the Clavis EV with a robust safety package, including 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a dual-camera dash cam. Level 2 ADAS features—like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist—bring high-end safety to the family EV segment. The EV also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.

With its launch, Kia aims to redefine electric mobility for Indian families, offering a spacious, tech-rich, and eco-conscious alternative in the growing EV market.
