Status: Notified; Date of Notification: March 10, 2019 Validity Period: 5 years from the date of issue of relevant government resolution

  • Target to have 10 lakh EVs by year 2022.
  • Pilot Fleet of 20,000 two-wheelers, 50,000 three-wheelers, 1,000 goods carriers, 3,000 buses and 100 ferry boats by year 2020.

  • The state is keen to promote manufacturing of EVs and for which a fund shall be created for technology acquisition and promote manufacturing within the state.
  • Concession in electricity tariff, property tax and tax breaks as per IT & ESDM policy
  • Priority allotment of land and speedy execution of land allotment as per the IT policy.
  • Investment allowance and capital subsidy provisioned in ESDM policy.
  • Support to auto components industry especially for MSMEs, startups, and academia.

  • 25% capital subsidy (maximum INR10 lakhs) for first 100 charging stations with DC charger (100 V and above) and INR30,000 for first 300 stations with DC charger (below 100 V)
  • 25% capital subsidy (maximum INR10 lakhs) for first 50 battery swapping stations
  • 20 Public Charging stations (PCS) and Bulk charging stations (BCS) each and 150 swapping stations for 2/3 wheelers in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulum, Kozhikode
  • KSRTC to set up charging stations at their bus depots
  • Oil marketing companies and public / private energy operators will be permitted to set up PCS and BCS on their own
  • Priority electricity connection to public charging stations
  • Incentive for setting up charging stations in existing private / malls / commercial buildings
  • Charging stations at every 25 kms on highways and roads connecting major cities
  • All new non-residential buildings with more than 10 equivalent car spaces (ECS) shall have at least 20% EV spots with adequate infrastructure
  • All new residential complexes and colonies having 10 ECS spots to make 100% demarcation for ECS parking with adequate infrastructure
