BMW Group India has announced a significant change at its helm, appointing Hardeep Singh Brar as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 September 2025. Brar succeeds Vikram Pawah, who will move on to lead BMW Group’s operations in Australia and New Zealand. Hardeep Singh Brar: A Veteran with Two Decades of Experience

  • Brar brings over 20 years of experience in the Indian automotive sector, having held senior leadership roles at marquee brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, General Motors, Nissan Motor, Great Wall Motor Company, and most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India.
  • He is a mechanical engineering graduate from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab, and an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Senior Executive Leadership Program.
  • Brar’s expertise spans sales, marketing, customer experience, network development, and corporate strategy, making him well-suited to steer BMW India through its next phase of innovation and expansion.

Outgoing CEO Vikram Pawah’s Legacy

  • Vikram Pawah joined BMW Group in 2017 and has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s market share in India, advancing electric mobility initiatives, and enhancing digitalisation and customer experiences.
  • Under his leadership, BMW Group India achieved notable milestones, including the local production of 10 car models, the operation of a manufacturing facility in Chennai, and the expansion of a robust dealer network with over 80 touchpoints nationwide.
  • Pawah’s next assignment will see him leading BMW Group Australia and New Zealand as CEO, reflecting the company’s confidence in his leadership.
