Ather Energy Launches Rizta Electric Scooter in Sri Lanka at Colombo Motor Show 2025

Greaves Electric Mobility

Ather Energy Limited has expanded its international portfolio with the launch of the Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka. Unveiled at the Colombo Motor Show 2025, the introduction marks Ather’s second global market after Nepal and comes nearly a year after the company first entered Sri Lanka with the Ather 450X.

Ather Strengthens Presence Through Local Partnership

The launch is enabled through Ather’s collaboration with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd, its authorized distributor in Sri Lanka. Since debuting in December 2024, Ather has built 40 experience centers across the country and deployed Ather Grid fast chargers, supporting the nation’s growing interest in electric mobility. The company views Sri Lanka as a rapidly expanding market and aims to cater to a broader customer base with the Rizta.

Rizta Brings Family-Focused Features and Connectivity

Designed as a family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta offers practical usability with a 34-liter under-seat storage compartment and a spacious floorboard. Safety performance is enhanced through Ather’s SkidControl technology. The higher-end Rizta Z variant includes a 7-inch TFT display, integrated Google Maps navigation, and music and call controls—features already proven popular in India and Nepal.

Ather’s Growing Global Footprint

Ather’s international journey began in November 2023 with its entry into Nepal, where it currently operates nine experience centers and seven service centers. In India, the company maintains a strong presence with 524 experience centers and 3,643 fast-charging stations as of September 30, 2025. Globally, Ather has deployed 4,322 fast chargers, with 40 of them located across Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy now offers nine variants across the performance-driven Ather 450 lineup and the convenience-focused Rizta series. The introduction of the Rizta in Sri Lanka marks another step in Ather’s aim to create a wider global footprint in electric two-wheeler mobility.
